Position: Inside Sales Representative

Reports to: Inside Sales Team Lead

JOB FUNCTION:

To make customer and prospect sales contact on a daily basis with the intent to: develop relationships with key personnel within various customer/prospect organizations with the purpose to grow the existing business and develop new business applications, projects, and maintain/grow the profitability of his/her account base to meet specified company sales objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Make phone and email contact with customers and prospects on a daily basis to establish business relationships.
  2. Make face to face contact with customers as required and discussed with the Inside Sales Team Lead.
  3. Maintain and service existing business with the account base through regularly scheduled calls.
  4. Perform customer service functions for account base as necessary if applicable.
  5. Develop new business within existing account base with existing and potential accounts. (Farming for business within key clients.)
  6. Develop new business with accounts not now doing business with Kaufman Container Company through leads and referrals given by the Marketing department and call-ins.(Identifying key prospects for growth and effectively communicating the KCC value proposition.)
  7. Develop new business opportunities for Kaufman Container by getting the necessary information for the customer/potential to make an intelligent buying decision. Tasks would include but not limited to: getting samples, developing quotes, get required technical information, working with Kaufman’s Project Management, Quality and the Purchasing departments to secure necessary information and pricing for price proposals and warehouse agreements.
  8. Ensuring all business developed is within the margin guidelines specified to meet Kaufman Container goals for profitability.
  9. Respond in a timely manner on quality or service issues that arise in the course of day to day business.
  10. Work with the various suppliers to best meet the on going needs of the customer base.
  11. Keep Kaufman Container updated on competitive information in the market place that may have an effect on Kaufman Container’s long term financial goals.
  12. Knowledge of the company’s computer operating system as well as Outlook, Word and Excel.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain and monitor inventory programs as required by account base. Work with Purchasing and the Inside Sales Team Lead to implement specific programs.
  2. Interact with Sales Coordinator daily to manage account base and customer demands.
  3. Maintain profiles of active customers and prospects through CRM, detailing current buying habits, key customer contacts, items currently purchased both from Kaufman Container and open projects, and any other pertinent information on that customer.
  4. Interact with the various departments within Kaufman Container.
  5. Attend various vendor sales seminars and Kaufman Sales Meetings as required.
  6. Work with Purchasing Manager on deletion and addition of stock yes items.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. College Graduate - Bachelors Degree in business preferred but not required.
  2. 1-2 years of prior sales experience 
  3. Good organizational, multitasking, communication and personal skills to manage specified account base.
  4. Proven record of self-management, positive thinking and attitude in either previous jobs or college.
  5. Neat, clean and professional business appearance.
  6. Works and interacts well with other employees and departments.
