Kaufman Container takes home 2 awards at the NACD Convention
Kaufman Container was the recipient of two packaging awards at the annual National Association of Container Distributors (NACD) convention held in La Quinta, CA this April.
The National Association of Container Distributors is a trade association representing leading distributors of rigid packaging and related components. It is dedicated to promoting the distribution channel within the container industry.
Each January, fellow packaging distributors submit packages that were developed during the previous year. During the NACD annual’s convention, an awards dinner and ceremony is held to present those awards. Each distributor competes for a Bronze, Silver, and Gold in the following categories:
Cosmetic & Personal Care Products
Drug & Pharmaceutical
Household Chemical & Automotive
Pet & Vet
An award is also given out to the Creative Use of Stock Components.
Lastly, a prestigious, Bernard M. Seid Best of Show award is also given to one package that stands out from all the rest.
This year Kaufman won a bronze award in the Cosmetic & Personal Care Product category for the Menskin shave stick line. The customer is Menskin located in Monrovia, California. The sales team consists of Mary Chase and Jeannette Wennerstrom.
This package also won the award for creative use of stock components. By the way… this is Kaufman’s 4th year in a row winning this award. Way to go!
The customer developed a revolutionary new idea in men’s shaving and with that; they wanted a more upscale looking package that could be marketed with a higher price point at such places as “The Grooming Lounge”. The package was chosen because of the wide surface area that meets with the face and because of the sleek look that is exhibited when the label is applied. Kaufman coordinated the purchase of the raw components and they worked with the customer to receive labels for label application. The customer launched with 3 SKU’s and re-orders are in the works with 3 additional fragrances to be purchased. The customer chose Kaufman based on our ability to fine “the right” package and also for the ability to apply the labels which gave the customer the ability to “one stop shop.”
